sometimes want to collect all the improvements on the sdf pipeline into a paper, but afraid that all the “innovative” ideas are already quietly lying down somewhere in the 80s’ research works.
Just published the source code and research paper to this approach.
Repo also includes a demo voxel editor to try out yourself.
github.com/DanFessler/voxel-…
considering a voxel lighting algorithm that lights each voxel a uniform amount based on a calculated normal instead of using the cubic faces of each voxel.
Got a proof of concept working but now need better demo assets. Anyone have pixel-art quality voxel assets for me to try?
been learning how to use #magicacsg and Iove how intuitive it is. in general so I made a gauss/railgun/sniper rifle.
so my idea for it is, it is sci fi but contains analogic elements, like been bolt action.

Residual Primitive Fitting of 3D Shapes with SuperFrusta
Another great work done by our intern Aditya Ganeshan @AdobeResearch.
We introduce a framework for converting 3D shapes into compact and editable assemblies of analytic primitives.
When 2D and 3D come together in a single SDF modeling program, the result is a super fun experience with impressive, high-quality, handcrafted digital creations.
