After nearly 25 years, it was time for an Epiphany refresh! Explore our new website at epiphanymagazine.org.
While our mission remains the same—championing boundary-pushing writers at all stages of their careers—the new site opens up new ways to discover the work we feature.
Congratulations to Imogen Osborne on winning our Breakout Prize in Prose! We were captivated by her story, about a twin who goes missing and the sister who stays behind. Our eternal gratitude goes to prose judge Alexandra Kleeman for her careful review and sharp editorial eye!
Drumoll’s over—Nico Amador is our 2026 Breakout Prize Winner in Poetry! Amador floored us with work that straddles speculative imagination and the transformative potential of everyday life. Thank you to our poetry judge Cynthia Cruz for her thoughtful work and selection!
A mere nine days remain until our submissions close on 6/15, so here are some tips on revision from our team of readers and editors. We know how it feels to pore over a piece right before before submitting, so we hope these tips make the final stretch just a bit easier.
We’re celebrating the release of our “Neighbors” issue at TJ Byrnes Bar. Come out for live readings, drinks, good people, and your very own copy of Issue 36. All our neighbors are welcome—RSVP through the link in our bio.
Our new issue, "Neighbors," is dropping on June 15! Issue 36's striking collection of work confronts the ways that people long for each other—from a Playboy Mansion to a Nigerian schoolyard to the classic avyan in a new translation of an unsung Iranian author.
Along with her incredible work manning the Epiphany ship, @saralippmann recently published her second novel, Hidden River. Based in Lippmann’s hometown of Philadelphia, a surprise wedding invitation leads to an honest interrogation of what #MeToo looked like before it had a name.
Congratulations to Meghan Proulx for securing a Pushcart Prize for “Light Wash Denim Styles,” which was featured in Epiphany’s Desire and Dread Issue. This story follows Madewell, a retail store that connects generations of homogenous women who just want to be seen.
We're open for submissions! While we love literary work that bends the rules of genre and language, following our submission guidelines is key. Here's a refresher on the dos and don'ts of submitting—make sure to read carefully before sending work through the link in our bio.
Issue 36 is almost here, and it has a new aesthetic. Check out our talented designer Lucy Andersen’s ethos for our redesign, which is accessible, seamless, and crafted for your bookshelf. Subscribe to Epiphany (through the link in our bio) to be the first to get a copy!
Our newest online exclusive is "Baby Girl," by Sui Wang. This short story follows a poetry teacher who must say goodbye to NYC after her visa expires, only to attend a bougie house party full of privileged peers. Read through the link in our bio.
Thank you to everyone who came out to our open mic and fundraiser last week! Due to your support, we raised $1,044 for @immdefense, a NYC-based org that provides legal and community defense resources to those terrorized by ICE.

We're just as surprised as you are—editors of nonprofit lit mags need social interaction, too. That's why the Epiphany team took a breather from reading submissions and proofing our upcoming issue for a backyard hang. Thank you to our fierce EIC @saralippmann for hosting!
Two days until our open mic and anti-ICE fundraiser, in cahoots with our friends from Eckleburg Review and Split Lip Magazine. Enjoy a night of readings and a chance to read your work with Brooklyn's literary talent. All proceeds go to Immigrant Defense Project!
Epiphany is open for submissions in poetry and prose, so there's no better time to highlight which stories our team keeps coming back to. Understanding our team's literary sensibilities is a great way to tailor your submissions for what we're most excited to read.
