Fable was finally a model from Anthropic which actually did something after their last Opus 4.7 and 4.8 disaster, but now that Fable is gone, and I reached my GPT limits, I gave Opus a try again, and so far it's blaming me, and telling me the code is fine, which it clearly isn't.

I used an LLM to convert a few 100 files from Java to Kotlin. Instead of doing this one by one, the LLM (Codex) detected the scope of the work, and decided it was better to extract the built in conversion logic of Intellij, wrap that with a CLI (J2K), used that to convert everything and fixed a few small conversion errors by hand after.
After using this stuff for a long time now, I'm still impressed and surprised at times how smart LLMS can be at times.

This got me excited for a moment, but it's not anything close to Anthropics Claude in iOS. In Claude, you can spin up many cloud agents. with Codex mobile, you can only take over your local machine, so your machine needs to be up and running. Disappointing development.

My new IntelliJ Nix Plugin has a few subtle improvements over the standard Nix tooling. One of them is this:
statix only detects up to 3 repeated keys. The plugin detection is unbounded, and allows to combine repeated keys, including nested repeated keys.

Here’s my Codex usage for personal projects since I went all in on it last November. You can clearly see when 5.5 came out. What's crazy is that most of these tokens came from a $20/month subscription.

saying that opus 4.7 is bad at coding implies that it's good at something else. haven't found yet what that may be.
currently using Codex, GLM, and more, and pretty happy with that!

It's a shame that OpenAI Codex is such a disappointing experience compared Claude Code. With Claude Code, I can give it a markdown prompt, and Claude Code will build it. With Codex, I first have to create an environment, which is annoying, and then Codex will at best build 10% of the work. There's room for improvement here @OpenAI @thsottiaux
