A good dark theme should not make every token scream for attention. The point is hierarchy: primary syntax should guide you, secondary syntax should stay quiet, and the UI should almost disappear. That's Vira Theme. Made by designers, for developers. vira.build

What happened to @sketch ? I remember using it everyday back in the years because it was so innovative and unique. Figma is a bugged app that barely can run on a M1 (with real projects and files) fueled by hype. Any article about why it disappeared? A matter of missing features?

Periodic reminder: #CSS carousels are not "accessible by default" sarasoueidan.com/blog/css-ca… They are still highly experimental & there are still many open #a11y questions & issues being discussed. The browser will not do everything for you—you'll still have work to do, too.

Things I’ve learned since iOS 26 was released: - Everyone on Twitter is a designer - Android users are concerned for iOS users - Steve Jobs never created a bad design - People wanting a redesign, actually didn’t - 100% trust the leaks - Beta means shipped - No one has ever heard of the feedback app

Unpopular opinion: #adaptive is still the best approach for web apps compared to #responsive.

You probably don't need P3 color fallback. The first device supporting P3 has been released 16 years ago, in 2008. Almost all mobile phones released in 2016 added support for P3. Every UHD TV monitor since 2016 MUST support at least 90% of P3 colors, as required by UHD Alliance.

Unpopular opinion: Using #css layers is a mess no one talks about. Good luck with third-party libraries if you want to use layers in your app. If they don't use layers, their CSS will end in the global layer, which has priority in the cascade. You can't customize it in any way.

I don't feel very good about the idea of using css grids to create tables as a first use case.

Gap decorations was just discussed at the CSSWG meeting -- really interesting proposal to style the gaps between grid items! Do you have any specific use cases for this? github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/…
