Spencer had the really hard job of getting us public, which he did masterfully.  I captained through the Covid storm.  And we're both excited for @zillow 's next chapter under Jeremy's leadership.  Zillow has huge opportunity in front of it and is gaining momentum.  Thanks, Spencer, and congrats, Jeremy.
Congratulations @jwacksman on becoming CEO of @ZillowGroup $ZG 🎉 An excellent choice. Excited to watch him grow @zillow through its next chapter, and to root for his success. 👏

Proud and excited to pass the baton to Jeremy Wacksman, @ZillowGroup’s new CEO. I will move to co-chair the board with my co-founder, Lloyd Frink, and will remain engaged to support Jeremy and the Zillow team. Even though Zillow is approaching 20 years of “age,” the adventure and the opportunity ahead of the company has only just begun. Jeremy’s a 15-year veteran of Zillow and has led most of the company for the last 3 years as COO. Here’s why he’s the right CEO for Zillow now: zlw.re/4cfesfD

Wait, what? A post that isn’t about politics and addresses something substantial and interesting!
Why did past societies build so much "useless" beauty everywhere — and why did we stop? It might be a measure of a culture's health... (thread) 🧵

Manchin’s a Republican in Dem clothing, so it’s really a 51/49 Republican majority Senate, even if on paper it’s Democrat led. And the GOP is just running out the clock. Easier to make sense of the current mess from that POV. For me, anyway. Biden & Co never had a prayer.

Webb telescope has me wondering - what if the point is to be the first civilization to solve the Big Bang problem - Earth as one contestant in an Escape Room competition - political idiocy, gas prices etc don’t matter at all - useless clues in the room - science is the cavalry 🤷‍♂️

To all founders and CEO’s who insist they don’t need media training (not a sub-tweet), watch this and try to tell me that he hasn’t taken media training just as seriously as Steph Curry takes practicing three-pointers. Nobody can do this without putting in the work.
Pete Buttigieg just gave a masterclass on owning the conversation on Fox News.

After the past week of unrelenting gloom, led by Roe, followed closely by EPA, with good chance that next session will put an end to free and fair elections, I am ready for that most American of events, ultimate celebration of freedom. No, not the 4th. Burning Man….

I’m 55. The Supreme Court will almost certainly be Republican for the rest of my life. Fuck.

Wait so the Republican Supreme Court is going to decide whether states get control over federal elections… what could possibly go wrong?

So, I guess the Republican Supreme Court runs atmospheric carbon levels now, too. Cool. Or rather … nevermind :(

I just tried to explain to a Canadian friend how the US system works. The whole damn thing hinges on the Supreme Court not being political, doesn’t it? Cause if the Court is Republican, and the President is Republican, and Republicans control House and Senate.. Check? Balance?

If SCOTUS actually eviscerates the EPA this week, we are headed for a world where tech that pulls carbon out of the atmosphere at massive scale is humanity’s only hope. Which sounds like exaggeration but … 🤷‍♂️

Hard to match how it feels to sign off a call with a friend, both saying, “love you,” and it’s no big deal because you’re family.
