People with cognitive decline, frontal lobe dysfunction, “brain fog”, new onset diabetes, chronic fatigue, POTS, reduced cardiovascular fitness, mental health problems, ADHD, emotional lability etc:
- do not occupy hospital beds
- are not dead
So yes, COVID is in fact not over
The excess death rate has gone back to the level it was in 2018. So has hospital bed capacity.
We have vaccines that protect from COVID, and antivirals for breakthrough cases.
So yes, to the extent it needs to define people's everyday decisions, COVID is in fact "over".
