Chappell Roan might just be Saskatchewan’s newest ambassador. 🇨🇦🎤
On her latest track "The Subway," she belts: "Well, f**kk this city, I'm moving to Saskatchewan." The lyric went so viral it even boosted tourism in the province before the song dropped .🌾✨
In her chat with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, Roan said she picked the province purely because it rhymed. “We needed something [that ended with] ‘an,’” she explained, adding she’s never been but promises to perform there one day.
Lowe joked, “They’re gonna erect a statue of you in the city,” to which she replied: “You know what, it's about time Saskatchewan get recognized globally.”
From loving the capital’s cheeky name to confirming she’ll be “all up in Regina” when the time comes, Roan has the prairies buzzing.
Even 2SLGBTQ Affairs Shadow Minister Nathaniel Teed, and Carla Beck, leader of the Saskatchewan NDP, have invited her to visit.
