When I was maybe 8 someone refused me candy because I didnβt make eye contact. Iβm autistic, and didnβt understand eye contact was a thing NT people expected until I was ~12. Trick or treating was overwhelming enough without people like that. The memory still bothers me.
Hey so pls do NOT force kids to say βtrick or treatβ
My son is non-verbal and gets VERY frustrated when ppl turn him down for candy bc he didnβt say it
My bf every year brings him large sized candy bars bc we already know ppl will turn him down.
Be adults pls
