I build complex and fun software in EvidyTS, helps me keep AI-built apps maintainable after demos become real.

You prompt the AI to fix a bug. It agrees. It edits files. The app still behaves exactly the same. So you ask again. It edits more files. Still nothing. Congratulations, now the original bug is still alive, and the codebase is worse! I built client demos with AI very fast. That part was magical. Maintaining them was not. So I started adding my own templates, tests, Vitest checks, stricter project structure, and eventually EvidyTS a VS Code plugin. That became Evidype.

Sound on. Scanline Synth, Ep. 2: the name makes sense now. I upload an image, choose a horizontal row, normalize its brightness, and use it as a playable waveform. Today I used my own photo. Current status: my face is now an oscillator. Next: 70s-style subtractive synthesis.

Scanline Synth begins - a browser synth built in public. Evidype stress test: real-time audio, keyboard/MIDI, subtractive/FM synthesis, Karplus–Strong strings. Many ways to make a mess! Ep. 1: - tone button - QWERTY → notes Name makes sense in Ep. 2.

I built a frequency equalizer for images. Low bands move structure. Mid bands create heavenly beautiful faces. High bands attack texture. (Don't shoot me, my gf insisted to start the demo like this, for dramatic effect)

Full version here. 💡Fun fact: Although it looks like a neural net morphing faces, it's actually Fourier transforms (FT), a math technique from 1822 developed by Joseph Fourier. In fact, it's a neural layer hand-carved in 19th century! I simply applied it digitally in 2D to images and linked it to sliders for interactive transformations. The "fast" part, FFT, is the optimization that makes it update live while I drag sliders. The famous Cooley–Tukey FFT paper was 1965, also very much not neural-network magic.

AI coding is easy on day 1. Day 30 is where it rots: blurred contracts, thin tests, giant files, agents patching around their own patches. Evidype forces specs, tests, and repair loops into AI-built TypeScript. Free alpha: evidype.com

Would you give #Twitter and #Facebook to #Karamazov brothers? #Dostoevsky (dostoev.ski) responds: ...I think not! ...Alyosha was always the foil to Ivan's suffering, and would have remained so even if they were furnished with a laptop each! #GPT4 #AI #ChatGPT
