I've recently taken up a new form of martial art (armored combat). It's a unique experience to come at something as a novice again, having spent a large part of my adult life training on with my primary martial art (unarmored rapier combat).
Today, I completed my training to be a Chief Judge for the upcoming elections after serving as a Voting Judge in the primaries this summer.
I'm doing my part to ensure fairly run elections, how about you?
While I get opensrc PAAS/SAAS offerings with integrated admin tools, I don't understand a per-hour premium for VMs w/ preinstalled opensrc packages where the user handles everything else.
Is pre-installed DVWA worth $0.375/hour?
Wow. @bicoastalddean unexpectedly passed away. Possibly a heart attack while windsurfing.
Drew and I were "partners in crime" during grad school. We've been close friends for all the decades since.
I just saw him last month. He was doing great.
I'm completely gutted. RIP.
Multiple people in the class did not understand why our state did not provide detailed ballot receipts to voters. The instructors were not able to give a more satisfactory answer beyond "we just don't" which spurred discussion.

One of the best parts about vaccine availability is taking part in live music again. Seeing @STPBand in Baltimore tonight was nothing short of awesome.
When talking about this team a year ago, I said "We built a team dynamic with the freedom to share, learn, challenge, fail, and grow. A truly positive work environment for me." 100% recommend.
We continue to invest in bringing fuzzing to every developer at Microsoft, and making it easier for everyone to continuously fuzz. We're searching for two engineers to join the team that builds OneFuzz.

Retweet if you, as someone who works in tech, have ever considered quitting, buying a house away from people in the country (of whatever size), moving there, and never working in tech again.
A bitter-sweet change. @Microsoft is significantly ramping up investment in fuzzing based on a project I've led since it's inception. However, I won't be moving with the team. I'll be staying within @MSFTResearch to focus on Project Freta.
I'm beyond excited that this week the fuzzing projects OneFuzz and RESTler, previously incubated in Microsoft Research and used by Windows and Azure, are "graduating" to a new home in MORSE. Welcome to the teams responsible for building these foundational technologies!
Happy to share a little experiment we are trying. microsoftedge.github.io/edge… I am not sure if it will stick but we will see. Here is how I personally think about the matter 1/?
I found a USB drive can't be plugged in even following the IEFT standard procedure: try, flip over, try again, repeat at least twice.
Both the cap and case are removable. One side is USB-A and the other decidedly isn't.
Thanks HP.
