Very happy this is finally out. Fructosamine is quite an interesting glycaemic trait. Despite a strong phenotypic correlation with HbA1c, no evidence of genetic correlation. Coloc analysis suggests that some regulation is through pathways affecting albumin levels.
Happy to share another manuscript led by ECR and previous PhD student in my group @fa7gen ! It’s great to see this out!!

Fun fact: QC for this dataset was basically a big chunk of my thesis. Very painful phenotype. Of course, this is a brief report so it only ended up being a sentence in methods.

Our latest work builds upon the previous CAD work by A) assessing performance of our IRT in ASCVD (a tougher phenotype than CAD) and very importantly : B) validating performance on multiple ethnicities. Must-read thread by @mikeweale
1/9 Hot on the heels of our CAD paper (ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/…) comes our clinical validation across multiple ethnicities and ancestries of a new integrated risk tool for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) (shiny post-proof format: ajconline.org/article/S0002-…).

Just out, here is our take on the much debated topic of utility of PRS for cardiovascular disease prevention. Big improvement for middle-aged men, but classification improved across the board, with different types of improvement across age and sex. medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

Excited to share our latest article published in @plosgenetics: journals.plos.org/plosgeneti… #plosgeneticsauthor led by a excellent ECR @fa7gen who I was fortunate to mentor!!

It was nice to be back at eSCAMPS sharing our work. Hope more people are encouraged to join the @Genomicsplc team.
We are proudly sponsored by @Genomicsplc, with Fernando Aguilera presenting how genomics plc is improving polygenic risk scores using their own world's largest genotype-phenotype database #eSCAMPS2020
