also as an aside it's funny that in the past it used to be kaga vs awakening, and i got shit for being the former. now it's 3H vs engage. if i criticize engage, people think i'm a 3H fan; if i criticize 3H, it's the opposite. i'm like guys i don't even have a horse in this race

i am such a kaga fan to this day that when people criticize the gameplay in FE4 and FE5, i still don't get the problem. like i don't get what's wrong. aren't you supposed to replay the same chapter 100 times and walk away for 3 years before trying again

i've always read the classics, so i've never walked away from a game and thought, "wow that was just like reading ray bradbury or oscar wilde." the most important thing to me is that a game's narrative is entertaining and whatever it's trying to sell can be held up by vibes

i get that the conversations led up to some kind of revelation, but that's the problem. if you can't make it interesting before that, then everyone gets 1 A conversation and it's done; we're moving on. my concern w/ FW isn't the story itself but if it tries to fill a word count

my first games were jugdral and thracia. some characters got 1 or 2 lines and that's it. and i'd actually prefer that over the engage-style, because guess what, i can use my imagination and fill it in. what i can't do is be shown a character is dull and then make them interesting
