Once again, not sure who needs to hear this but: The Warriors winning in ‘22 did NOT justify or exonerate Joe’s 2 Timelines plan. They won *in spite* of it. Then doubling down heavily contributed to failing the title defense & seasons after. Lazy reasoning to use ‘22 to defend
lol. RIP the two timelines. A disaster that deserves a documentary.

“Forget them picks”? Imagine if the Knicks came back with something like this next year.

Side note, how often have we seen Warriors commentators consider the possibility that Joe Lacob’s bluster/arrogance is meaningfully tied to their difficulty making trades with other orgs? The scrappy Boston Celtics sure seem more capable. Would you “tango” w/ a person like this?
Speaking for myself, I’ll begin to move off my repeated Lacob critique when he steps back like Jed York did when Lynch/Shanahan arrived. Until then, Joe’s meddling in bball ops is still an existential threat to my GSW fandom. Larry Harris just told us Joe’s in his Draft lab.🤦🏻‍♂️

It really shouldn’t be this hard for Joe & his sycophants to fade away after their grand plans and hottest takes looked foolish, but apparently they’re stubborn AF. So I feel obliged to respond in kind whenever I discuss them.

I’ve said it before, but if any Warriors fan feels already satisfied—or even bored—by the Steph era, I would never try to force them to be frustrated. Enjoy. But no legit reason why the rest of us can’t pine for more. Esp as management tried to move on &/or had unorthodox plans.

All these years later and warriors twitter still can’t understand that two things can be true: - the past 13 years have been the most fruitful era of warriors basketball - the organization left a lot on the table because “TwO TiMeLinEs”, profit margins, and ego.

Again, who decides this? I want 7 to surpass Chicago. But no, I’m not allowed to be critical that they didn’t pursue that in a cogent way? Why can’t fans just be into their teams? Sports gotta be among the things it’s OK, even rational, to be “greedy”. Award trophies every year.

The warriors have won 4! The last title was extremely recent! You'd think the warriors were in the midst of a 50 yr drought reading warriors twitter

Is 7 a crazy historical number? Of course! But why is it bad to seek that? I gotta be happy/content with some arbitrary number someone else decides? I will have plenty of time post-Steph to sit around and reminisce on the good memories.

This thinking is so odd to me because it's so subjective. How can anyone police when fans can lament their fave team? What year were Bulls fans allowed to be mad after '98? Cowboys fans after '96? SF Giants fans after '14? Before getting into the scarcity & time value of Steph.

How long are you guys going to whine and complain about this? 4 rings in 8 years and you act like its the Cohen era. Just an entitled fanbase

8 different NBA champs in the last 8 season...are none of those fanbases allowed to gripe about their current or recent trajectories because they won and have been generally better than the Sacramento Kings?

Yep, lowkey as much as Wiseman was an all-time whiff by Joe/Bob as their highest pick in a quarter century, their bigger miss might be misevaluating Steph's trajectory post-2020.

I think a lot of the propaganda from the org has centered around ‘Steph can’t do it anymore so we need to draft for the future’ Which is just inherently wrong on multiple levels. And influences behavior. If they believed in Steph, then the talk is ‘how do we get better now’

Absurd thing about that 2021 quote is Steph went out and won them a 4th championship in 2022 and Joe/Bob rewarded him by patting themselves on the back for drafting kids and doubling down on the 2nd Timeline.

Clear as day to me that the Warriors' past ~7 seasons can be easily explained as Joe & Bob having assessment skills that were mediocre at best. We had mouthpieces like TK citing Jerry West all the time from 2010-2016 to suddenly attributing the genius to Bob & eventually Joe.
“Things are happening really fast now. You used to have 3-4 year windows. We had that. That’s not the case anymore….We have to think about the future.” - Bob Myers on @DRK957

Shouldn't be that hard to separate Myers' value as a relationships manager versus a basketball visionary. The latter isn't something that comes along all the time. Jerry West had a track record. Bob inheriting as much as he did should've been a question mark. As for Lacob...lol

Tbc no doubt OG had preferences. But if Masai/Myers made a deal, little a new agent could do. If OG went scorched earth, drags his feet, & threatens to not re-sign w/ GSW vs. trying to win a Bird max, that's his prerogative. But GSW could flip to recoup some for the attempt.
Replying to @fakelogic
Why did OG change agents that year then?

Sure CAA could threaten to be mad at GSW, but it's not like CAA isn't already favoring and intimately tied to the Knicks via Leon Rose anyway. And I'm of the belief those intentions are hollow anyway. They're *really* going to freeze out the Warriors' Bay Area market?

Might be loser's mentality, but I tend to think it's a lot of folks misattributing what led & leads to winning. And that's largely due to successful propaganda about the FO/owner ( copium about drafting). That side just assumes some unknown future will likely be better vs worse.
Replying to @fakelogic
There’s this massive losers mentality clouding the org. From the talk show people saying ‘give up wemby is here’ to ‘we can’t convince anyone to stay’ despite having won a title this decade. It’s bizarre

The Kuminga-for-OG trade rumor came out during the '22-23 season (defending champs). He would've been under contract for '23-24, w/ a player option for '24-25. The suggestion his preference for the Knicks killed GSW's chances seems like cope to defend Lacob/Myers' valuations.
They also should’ve just done it anyway. Winning cures all. And we all know the reason OG preferred the Knicks is cause they promised an extension while Lacob was salary dumping.

Joe & Bob couldn't bring a talent like him in-house for 1.5 seasons & convince him to stay? He's really going to turn down a Bird Rights max & seek out a bad team w/ cap space? NYK likely wouldn't have it at that point. Nah, Occam's Razor says they overvalued JK & their picks.
