On northern hemisphere, around November 5, the year plunges into its darkest quarter. In Chinese solar terms, this is 立冬 (lìdōng), the beginning of winter.
I'm lighting a new candle to remind myself that the darkness is not all there is. Light exists. It will come back.

oh and the weird saying was 鰯の頭も信心から (iwashi no atama mo shinjin kara) "through faith even heads of sardines" though in the anime Kusuriuri says 「目刺しの頭」(mezashi no atama) の例えもあるじゃないか "Isn't there an allegory about dried sardines on a stick?"
