Stargate SG-1 Writer Joseph Mallozzi calls out executives for treating fans poorly: "Throughout my career, I've been dismayed by the contempt some genre executives have held for fans, routinely underestimating their power to make or break a show. I've watched this repeat too many times, across too many shows, to be talking about any single one of them. Yet despite the mounting evidence over the past few years, they continue to dismiss the data, repeating the same miscalculations time and again. But technology has rewritten the rules, and the power dynamics are shifting. Today’s fans are organized, strategic, and highly data-literate - effectively turning the platforms' own metrics against them. As the bets get bigger and the audience grows sharper, it will be fascinating to see how this plays out." Is it about time these corporate suits get with the program?

Disclosure Day opened to $44M this weekend. Spielberg's best opening in nearly 20 years. Made for $115M, needs $300M worldwide to profit. A B CinemaScore is not what you want when you need legs. But this is Spielberg, and his films historically run long. Minority Report was a 3x multiplier. War of the Worlds, 3x. If this one has the same legs it could get there. An original sci-fi thriller with no franchise attachment opened #1 this weekend. That matters. The box office keeps telling us audiences will show up for something new if someone they trust is behind it. Will you be seeing it?

Russell T. Davies claims Doctor Who wasn't cancelend and the fans saying so are wrong: “The same thing is happening here with Doctor Who. And I think, I’m not in charge of this process, that means many years ahead. No one’s going to put out to tender, no one’s going to apply for a tender for one year. It’s not worth it.” “So I think this guarantees years of the programme. But no, go ahead and call it cancelled, everyone. You’re wrong. You’re literally wrong.” Why would he say this after they were most certainly canceled?

YouTube reviewer X-Ray Girl mocks Steven Spielberg's early marketing of Disclosure Day, where he said: “People are going to question their faith after seeing this movie.” “People are going to question their faith in Spielberg after watching this.” Is Spielberg washed, and does this film confirm it?

#SaveStargate hit the global top ten on X on June 10. Number 2 in Norway. Number 4 in France. Top ten in the United States. 74,000 petition signatures. $8,000 raised for billboards outside Amazon MGM's own headquarters. Michael Shanks posted. The fandom showed up internationally. Amazon has said nothing in nine days. In 2019 Mallozzi ran #WeWantStargate. It trended. Deadline covered it. Four years later it produced the Gero series. Amazon just killed that series. Can the fans beat the amazon execs?

Games Workshop's CEO stated in January: "we do not allow AI generated content or AI to be used in our design processes." This week GW published Horus Heresy artwork with a Space Marine who has six fingers. Their response: "it's not AI — the artist added a little unexpected drama. Go easy on our artists." This is the third incident. The Red Gobbo AI art came first. Then AI kept appearing in Warhammer Community articles. Now this, ten days before the 11th Edition Armageddon launch. "Trust us" does not work after three incidents. Does GW owe the community a direct answer before June 20?

IGN awarded Mixtape a perfect 10/10 — one of the rarest scores in the publication's history. Mixtape peaked at 2,245 concurrent players on Steam. Xbox's official account responded to the backlash: "Reminder: just because you're not personally into a game, doesn't mean it's a bad game." Players called it "shallow, painfully self-important, and more interested in curated vibes than actual gameplay." The soundtrack licenses The Smashing Pumpkins, Joy Division, and The Cure — not an indie budget. This is the Concord pattern. When does gaming press reckon with the gap between its scores and its audience?

The Marvel Ultimate Universe closed June 10 with Ultimate Endgame #5. Three years after launching as the most talked-about comics initiative in years. Jonathan Hickman built a high-concept premise and contractually limited the run so it would end with integrity. Then Deniz Camp took over The Ultimates — replacing the Hulk with a Polynesian woman who lectured the team on white colonialism, introducing a they/them Native American Hawkeye built around Standing Rock imagery, and turning the Punisher skull into a Nazi symbol. Camp later posted "Missed again :(" after the assassination attempt on Trump. Neither Marvel nor DC dropped him. ICv2 Q1 2026: DC now leads Marvel in direct market share for the first time in years. How badly did Marvel botch here?

Milly Alcock on the pressure of adapting Tom King's Woman of Tomorrow into a single film. "I felt this way when I read Woman of Tomorrow and I want a movie to feel that way as well. And as many of the elements as I can bring along with me, I will." Did they make a mistake choosing this work for a 107 minute film?

Early on when Doctor Who was clearly going to inject DEI into its storytelling, actor Ncuti Gatwa told fans not to watch it: "Don’t watch. Turn off the TV. Go and touch grass, please, for God’s sake." Wa this the biggest misstep in the show's history?

Science Fiction and Fantasy writer Jane Yolen passed away at 87. According to a statement: "It is with profound sadness that I, along with my brothers Adam Stemple and Jason Stemple, share the news of our mother, Jane Yolen’s passing. As you all probably know, she had one of the most brilliant creative minds of our time. This year, her 450th book published. She has been awarded 6 honorary doctorates and too many awards to mention here. She has mentored, inspired, and nurtured so many authors and illustrators through her words both on the page and off. But, beyond that, she was our mother and grandmother. We will put out more information later when we have time to gather. But, friends and fans alike, please know that she passed gently with no pain or stress, with my brother Adam’s music filling the room and me reading Owl Moon to her one last time. My brother Jason was by my side and we feel the love of everyone who has been holding us in the light." Were you a fan of her work?

Director Anna Boden explains exactly why Milly Alcock was always going to be Supergirl. "It doesn't feel like an actor trying to put on grit. It just kind of felt like she was bringing herself into it." Is she admitting Alcock doesn't have the technical range and just plays herself?

Former Doctor Who showrunner Chris Chibnall champions DEI for Doctor Who: “There shouldn't be any sense of you can only be the Doctor if you're white and male. Really, that has to go. It's vitally important to be inclusive on every show, but especially this one.” Is worrying about this instead of science fiction why the show failed?

Milly Alcock describes this version of Kara as someone actively trying to self-destruct. "She has survivor's guilt. There's an element of like let me self-destruct and self-detonate because I don't deserve to be here, let alone deserve to be here and be an important person." Does a broken, self-destructive Supergirl miss the whole point and speak to millennial therapy writing?
