In 1980, with no broadcast experience, I sent a demo tape to Ken Squier, hoping to become a pit reporter. He encouraged me to practice and passed it along to MRN, who allowed me to spot in the pits with Ned Jarrett and Jerry Punch and work the turns with Eli Gold. I am thankful.
