Quite the mix of winter weather in our near future.
Even though it’s #BlackFriday and stores are crazy, go get your errands done today so you don’t have to have to be out on slick roads over the weekend.
#NebraskaWeather
Winter weather is still on track to cause widespread hazardous travel late today through Saturday. Some of this may start as light freezing rain late today, which can sneakily make roads very dangerous, before changing over to snow by Saturday.

ALT This image is a map showing light freezing rain in southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa developing by 3 PM, and overspreading much of the area by 6 PM. The freezing rain will be light, but may be enough to make roads slick.
ALT Total snowfall forecast map, with a circled area including Crete, Lincoln, Omaha, Red Oak, and nearby areas as being the location of the rain/snow mix line...which may have major fluctuations in snow amounts depending on one or two degrees of temperature difference.
ALT Two maps, one showing widespread hazardous travel is likely across all of Iowa, much of eastern Nebraska, South Dakota, with 30-50% chance of hazardous travel in western Nebraska and northern Kansas tonight through Saturday. A second map showing better regional travel conditions on Sunday, although eastern Iowa and points east are still likely to have hazardous conditions.
