A hotel room is not a neutral white box, which is exactly why I like it. I’m showing Wild Guest at ACCESS KL Art Fair, conceived and organized by G13 Gallery. Instead of standard booths, the fair unfolds through curated room exhibitions at KLoé Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

Sometimes the roar is not loud at all. Sometimes it is just pulling in tight and protecting the soft parts. Ferdi B Dick #ferdibdick #PangyRoar #PangolinSculpture #ContemporaryArt #Sculpture

Some roars look calm from a distance. This one is about staying high, scanning early, and never fully switching off. Ferdi B Dick #ferdibdick #GiraffeRoar #GiraffeSculpture #ContemporaryArt #Sculpture

This one looks cute until you realise it is about loss. A unicorn without its horn, still trying to hold itself together. Ferdi B Dick #ferdibdick #UnicornNoMore #BronzeSculpture #ContemporaryArt #Sculpture

I like that this piece feels bright and alive, even in a darker setting. Also, it fits in your hands, which still amuses me. Ferdi B Dick #ferdibdick #CrystalSculpture #Sculpture #ContemporaryArt #HorseSculpture

I love that dogs will fully dedicate themselves to an impossible scratch. This one is about that stubborn little loop of hope. Ferdi B Dick #ferdibdick #StainlessSteelSculpture #DogSculpture #ContemporaryArt #Sculpture

This one feels almost too soft to be a horse, which is probably why I like it. Pink crystal changes the whole attitude of the form. Ferdi B Dick #ferdibdick #CrystalSculpture #Sculpture #ContemporaryArt #PinkArt

I like making a small monument to curiosity instead of certainty. A cat pointing upward felt more honest than most gods. Ferdi B Dick #ferdibdick #PussyTouch #MarbleSculpture #ContemporaryArt #CatSculpture

Sometimes the roar is just confidence in costume. Chest out, stance wide, acting steady before you fully feel it. Ferdi B Dick #ferdibdick #LionRoar #LionSculpture #ContemporaryArt #Sculpture

I made this dragon with its tongue out because life is serious enough already. A little wealth, a little luck, a little disrespect. Ferdi B Dick #ferdibdick #DragonsBreath #DragonSculpture #ContemporaryArt #Sculpture

Three angles, same quiet attitude. I like making a sculpture that changes as you move, but still feels calm from every side. Ferdi B Dick #ferdibdick #CrystalSculpture #Sculpture #ContemporaryArt #HorseSculpture

I like the absurd optimism of this one. An elephant trying to fly, carved in marble, still fully committed. Ferdi B Dick #ferdibdick #MarbleSculpture #Sculpture #ContemporaryArt #ElephantArt

Same sculpture, different moods. I love how colour shifts the personality of the form without changing the pose at all. Ferdi B Dick #ferdibdick #CrystalSculpture #Sculpture #ContemporaryArt #ColourStudy

I wanted this one to feel like a full emotional release, but still funny. A big yellow elephant doing its best roar with its tongue out felt right to me. Ferdi B Dick #ferdibdick #EllieRoar #ElephantSculpture #ContemporaryArt #Sculpture

I like when a sculpture stops feeling solid and starts feeling like light. This yellow crystal piece does that for me every time. Ferdi B Dick #ferdibdick #CrystalSculpture #Sculpture #ContemporaryArt #YellowArt

Light moving through crystal still feels a bit unreal to me. This is Cloud-Mane Horse, cast in lead-free crystal and finished by hand. I wanted it to feel like upward motion held inside light. #ferdibdick #CrystalSculpture #Sculpture #ContemporaryArt #HorseSculpture #ArtProcess

Dragon’s Breath in gold is finally here. I made this piece as a playful follow-up to my Lion’s Breath series, with the dragon sticking its tongue out like the yoga pose. For me it’s about releasing pressure, inviting a bit of luck, and not taking life too seriously. ✨🐉
