Check out our new paper out in Global Change Biology, with my amazing colleagues at Oak Ridge National Lab! We spent two weeks in the Arctic looking at permafrost thaw and thermokarst wetland carbon cycling.

I need people to understand how difficult it is to get an NIH grant. You spend months writing a proposal, following strict guidelines that include a detailed multiyear budget, bios of everyone on your team, plans for participant safety & ethical conduct. Then you send it off -1/n

Acres of forest land in the U.S. is drowning from rising sea levels, creating one of the most striking indicators of climate change: ghost forests.
One scientist, who says the phenomenon is inevitable, is now working to ensure the marshes left behind offer some benefits.
