The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

The sketchy part of an AI agent workflow usually isn’t the model.
It’s access.
A business connects an agent to email, files, CRM, billing, whatever... and suddenly it’s working through someone’s personal login.
That’s not an employee.
That’s a loose key. 🧵
Before connecting an agent, use this checklist:
✔️ dedicated work account
✔️ only the tools it actually needs
✔️ no send/delete/billing access by default
✔️readable activity logs
✔️one clear way to revoke access fast
Simple rule:
If you wouldn’t give a new hire that account on day one, don’t give it to an agent.
Start narrow.
Watch it work.
Then expand access.
That boring setup work is what lets agents do real business work.
