Right now, ABLUME is in a truly miserable situation โ they have no activities at all and are just stuck in their rooms. In Korea, they are being treated like social outcasts.
While the members themselves are heavily at fault, their parentsโ wrongdoing is just as serious. Instead of scolding their daughters for their wrong decisions and correcting them, the parents actively led and encouraged the betrayal.
The parents attended two secret meetings and didnโt hesitate to commit what was essentially theft by applying for the trademarks. They are undoubtedly the most shameless and insane parents in K-pop history.
Timeline
May 2, 2023 โ After Aran underwent gallbladder surgery, ATTRAKTโs CEO gave all members a long hiatus of over two months, with their return scheduled for July 14.
May 13 โ A secret meeting was held at The Giversโ office, attended by the members and their parents along with Ahn Sung-il. Ahn Sung-il spread false information and manipulated them into trying to leave ATTRAKT for Warner Music Korea.
May 17 โ A secret meeting was held in the conference room at Warner Music Koreaโs headquarters, attended by the membersโ parents. Warner Music Koreaโs CEO promised housing, practice facilities, and legal support, while strongly urging them to file a preliminary injunction.
June 13 โ Member Saena falsely reported to ATTRAKT that she had contracted COVID-19. She submitted a photo of a COVID test kit that Ahn Sung-il had previously submitted to ATTRAKT, pretending it was her own. This was part of Ahn Sung-ilโs scheme to help the members secretly leave the dorm undetected.
June 17 โ The members left the dorm and completely cut off all contact with ATTRAKT.
June 19 โ The members filed a preliminary injunction against ATTRAKT. On the same day, their parents applied for a total of 60 trademarks related to FIFTY FIFTY.
Even though the โBarbie Dreamsโ MV shoot was scheduled for June 20โ23, they filed the injunction right before filming. This was a calculated and malicious move, assuming the ATTRAKT CEO would not dare to cancel the scheduled shoot. Their intention was to later claim in court that ATTRAKT had forced the schedule despite a sick member. However, the CEO canceled the shoot on the advice of his law firm.
August 28 โ ATTRAKT won the preliminary injunction case. The court dismissed all of the membersโ claims.
October 16 โ Keena withdrew her appeal on the injunction and returned to ATTRAKT. Accompanied by her father, she personally visited CEO Jeon Hong-joon, tearfully apologized, and asked for forgiveness. While Keena clearly made mistakes, she received forgiveness from the CEO and many Korean people.
October 19 โ ATTRAKT officially notified Saena, Sio, and Aran of the termination of their exclusive contracts.
October 24 โ ATTRAKT won again in the appeal trial at the Seoul High Court. The court rejected the membersโ appeal, resulting in a complete victory for ATTRAKT.
December 18 โ ATTRAKT filed a damages lawsuit (approximately 13 billion KRW) against Saena, Sio, Aran, their parents, and others involved, including Ahn Sung-il of The Givers.
In 2025, FIFTY FIFTY worked hard and generated approximately $๐ต. In contrast, ABLUME generated only about $๐ญ๐ฒ,๐ฑ๐ณ๐ฌ ๐ถ๐ป ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฒ while recording a ๐ป๐ฒ๐ ๐น๐ผ๐๐ ๐ผ๐ณ $๐ญ.๐ฏ๐ณ๐ฑ ๐บ๐ถ๐น๐น๐ถ๐ผ๐ป.
ABLUME and their parents demonized ATTRAKTโs CEO, who did nothing wrong, and even now, some misinformed and foolish overseas K-pop fans still believe their narrative. This case will go down in K-pop history as a prime example of how human greed can turn people truly ugly.
