Many thanks to @nimastStroke and @strokeassocni for the opportunity to update on Stroke Action Plan progress today; all driven through regional collaboration between Trusts and C&V sector, keeping the patient at the forefront of what we do
Our first #StrokeConferenceNI session focused on the progress made in improving stroke care. The consensus between speakers was that progress has been made… but there’s much more that can be done to ensure stroke patients and survivors make the best recovery possible in NI.

"Those who carried out the study said they are simply astounded at the role the GAA has in every community" The Social Return on Investment study shows that for every euro invested in Gaelic games, the benefit returned to society is at least €2.30 and could be as much as €3.96.

People with stroke symptoms who delay calling 999 are potentially missing specialist treatments which can improve their outcome. Dont wait to see if symptoms pass!
This World Stroke Day the Stroke Teams are encouraging patients who experience any symptoms of stroke to seek immediate help. Evidence shows that patients in the Western Trust area are not seeking help as quick as those in other parts of NI. Read more ▶ westerntrust.hscni.net/seek-…

Less than two hours after congratulating Causeway on their ‘A’, I saw their service first hand when a younger family member suffered a stroke. Fast professional, efficient and caring treatment before transfer to the RVH no doubt has contributed to good recovery so far. Thank You!
