People keep disrespecting Dillon Gabriel (59.5%) without even realizing he was more accurate than Caleb Williams (58.1%) and Shedeur Sanders (56.6%) last season.

Just think of it this way, at some point your mind makes decision to throw bc something is “open” if you are slower to deliver there is a better chance for D to recover… this would create a disadvantage over another player unless you could somehow make decisions faster than another guy, but that is putting a lot on you mentally! Of course, a slightly longer may not effect you that much & if you throw less “timing” routes it doesn’t matter as much, but I do believe it can make a big difference on certain routes or in certain situations (like tight RZ where windows condense)!
Replying to @kurt13warner
What do you think about “release time”. If your drops and reads are on time, does “release time” really matter that much?

As a former NFL Scout— Shedeur Sanders is not going to develop in the NFL. Why? He has a hesitation that’s ingrained in him. I wrote about it his pre-draft scouting report. The NFL is too fast for him. This is why Sanders had the slowest time to throw in the NFL last season (3.24 seconds Next Gen Stats). Just like how he struggled to get the ball out of his hand in college: PFF: 2024: 3.00 seconds (FBS) 2023: 2.89 seconds (FBS) 2022: 2.74 seconds (FCS) 2021: 2.92 seconds (FCS) This isn’t going away. He’s not going to suddenly be able to start getting the ball out of his hand fast enough. That’s not how he sees the game. That’s not how he processes the game. That’s not who he is. The only thing that’s happened to Sanders is he’s become progressively slower processing and slower getting the ball out of his hand when he’s been moved up to higher levels of competition. (FCS — FBS — NFL). Full Pre-Draft Scouting Report: firstroundmock.com/2025/01/s…
#Browns Todd Monken, fighting through a lost voice, says the key for Shedeur Sanders is to “process quicker, get the ball out of his hands and eliminate lost-yardage plays.” The playmaking ability is there and he’s been more decisive.

In 2025, Spencer Rattler had a top-10 completion percentage (67.7%) and the 5th fastest time to throw in the NFL (Next Gen Stats 2.67 seconds). It’s just a matter of time… Photo Credit: Getty Images

I don’t think people are ready to have this conversation, but Spencer Rattler had the biggest second-year completion percentage jump in the 2024 NFL Draft Class. *Rattler was my Pre 2024 NFL Draft QB1 Rattler 📈 2024: 57.0% 2025: 67.7% Drake Maye 📈 2024: 66.6% 2025: 72.0% Michael Penix Jr. 📈 2024: 58.1% 2025: 60.1.% Bo Nix 📉 2024: 66.3% 2025: 63.4% Caleb Williams 📉 2024: 62.5% 2025: 58.1% Jayden Daniels 📉 2024: 69.0.% 2025: 60.6% Joe Milton III 📉 2024: 75.9% 2025: 62.5% J.J. This is classic. As a former NFL Scout, I’ve been focused on Caleb Williams low completion percentage since he’s been in the league. Now that’s his focus too. Video Credit @ChicagoBears

It would not surprise me to see Lamar Jackson on the Giants after they move on from Jaxson Dart. Especially, with John Harbaugh being there now.

Raiders cornerback Jermod McCoy didn't "plummet" on my 2026 Pre-NFL Draft First-Round Value Board. I had him valued at No. 24 overall: firstroundmock.com/2026/04/f…
#Raiders CB Jermod McCoy plummeted in the draft as a result of knee concerns, but the rookie is on track to be a full participant in training camp profootballrumors.com/2026/0…

I give this Titans reporter a lot of credit for sharing his perspective on Cam Ward.
I know it's June OTAs, but something felt amiss about Cam Ward this week. Could just be the new system. I'm not an alarmist, but honestly some of the deep balls and throws to the sideline gave me Vince Young/Jake Locker type vibes. Hopefully, for Ward's sake, it is just a hiccup.

The football world was convinced Anthony Richardson was a first round talent. I tried telling anyone who would listen pre-draft that he was a 5th round game film value, that he was a high risk for injury and he was a bust —in this pre-draft evaluation: firstroundmock.com/2023/04/a…
