This week's Brass Neck Award goes to Shanks. after presiding over the closure of his home nation's only refinery, he actually said this? Traitorous weasel.

Come Saturday morning I want to witness headlines of despair from the Daily Express, Daily Mail, The Sun, Herald, and Daily Record If we wake up to such headlines, then we know it has been a very bad election for the London rule supporting MSM. #Scottishindependence

It's a 1997 moment. Hopes and dreams have been gifted to Labour, and now we wait for them all to be smashed as Labour reveal who they truly are. It's a hard lesson to learn, but we all have to learn it.

Can someone remind the Tories and Labour that the remaining £165 billion of oil in the North Sea belongs to Scotland?

Sarwar’s Desperation: Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar is now in a defensive crouch, famously pleading with his base to "hold their nose" and vote Labour. But for voters watching the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, that’s a scent they can no longer ignore.

This is what happened after 120'000 folk in Mid Scotland and Fife voted SNP2 on the list vote. (2016) Zero SNP seats. Zero. SNP1 Green2 will have a profound effect on the balance of power at Holyrood this May. Have a think about it.

The Smiling Knife: The Myth of the Labour Saviour and the Great Industrial Clearances of Scotland To the generation of Scots born into the era of the "service economy," the story of Scotland’s industrial death is a comforting lie. The truth is far more sinister. #Scotland

In 1979 Scotland voted 51.6% to 48.4% in favour of a Scottish Assembly. But Westminster had inserted a "booby trap"—the Cunningham Amendment, which required 40% of the electorate to vote Yes. The dead, the moved-away, the disenfranchised—all were counted as "No" votes by default.

I have a strong feeling that there's an absolute tit running the Hampden ticketing app. That is all, more to follow.

Aye, what he said.
For myself and many others, Scottish independence is not about some sort of Braveheart-tinged dislike of the English. I absolutely adore England and the English. It’s not about a desire for passports, anthems or sovereignty either. It’s about my homeland self determining a set of direct democracy political values that are diametrically opposite to what has been happening at Westminster for many years now. What’s driving so many Scots to consider saying ‘yes’ to independence has less to do with their view of Scotland and more to do with what they believe has happened to British politics and the grotesque mess of corporatist governance at Westminster. It’s also got nothing to do with the SNP (who have descended into woke authoritarianism). Instead, Scotland must look way beyond that and find the right people to reshape a better path for Scotland and free from the busted flush model elsewhere. This is probably idealistic, but there’s no other alternative.

SERIOUS QUESTION… If English people had a vote on LEAVING Scotland , Wales and N. Ireland and having a Parliament of their own… How do you think that vote would go?.

In his 2014 speech the sleekit Gordon Brown with a jingoistic reference to WWII sold the the NHS and the Welfare State as part of a bright future for the UK. Ruth looked very impressed. In 2025 he's moaning about UK poverty. Thanks Gordon. This is the future you talked about.
