The secret weapon against cancer might be sugar. Doctors can already reprogram your immune cells to hunt cancer, but tumors create a harsh zone that wears those cells down before they finish the job. So FIU scientists gave them a special sugar coating, a kind of armor that helps them survive the fight and keep attacking longer.
