Today we’re proud to share the UK’s largest ever report into Black women’s maternity experiences.
Over 1,100 Black women responded to our survey, and what they told us is deeply concerning.
This report tells a story of feeling ignored, dismissed, and mistreated.

The latest @mbrrace report published today reveals ongoing maternal health disparities in the UK. Black women are 2.3 times more likely to die in pregnancy or shortly after. While some progress is seen, we still have a long way to go for true equity.

Only 20% of women said they were told how to make a complaint. Only 8% went on to do so. The system isn’t just broken it’s hard to challenge and without clear routes for to address this, trust is lost. #fivexmore#blackmereport
This new report builds on our landmark findings from 2022. Since then, we’ve seen announcements, taskforces, TV storylines, and even a government inquiry. But the truth is, many women are still having the same harmful experiences.
That’s why this data matters. #fivexmore#blackmereport
