What I learned in this episode about Percy Priest Lake: 1. A record 76lb fish was likely 80 yrs old. 2. Best campsites are 11/12 at Anderson Rd. 3. The rowing club once sank a $45k boat during practice. Also shared my story about a stowaway raccoon. wpln.org/post/episodes/j-per…

When @brandonheath is playing at your church (@ottercreek), you go. When @amygrant is performing too, you invite everyone.

A decade ago, I did a batch of stories about @valorcollegiate. Charter schools were a touchy topic in Nashville, and Valor flew above the fray with its pitch to make cultural and economic diversity a cornerstone. I had an infant at the time. [thread] marketplace.org/2014/01/27/w…

The academics are incredible. But that's not what impressed me so much initially. It was that they were perhaps more focused on social-emotional learning, and not in a touchy-feely way (though I definitely teared up the first time I watched this). youtube.com/watch?v=YYmz6q7O…

My son who was an infant when Valor was a startup charter was lucky enough to get a lottery spot. He started 5th grade today. We definitely feel like we hit the lottery. He was even more excited than me.

First time to attend a @WPLN event purely as a supporter. Rather looking forward to it. I mean, @khalilekulona and @MelissaJoanHart? Yeah. boxoffice.vanderbilt.edu/Onl…

The only minority without a home at @nprnews is a conservative. Good for @uberliner for speaking truth about an institution I also love. I can only imagine the flack he’s catching. thefp.com/p/npr-editor-how-n…

A reporter should have asked this! Great work, Rep Hemmer
Curiosity got the best of me and I made a trip to the Legislative Security desk to ask "How many guns have you checked and allowed in this week?" The answer surprised even me. An est. 25-30 firearms were allowed into our building during the first two days(in one entrance).🧵

If you need Nashville news told to you each morning like it’s coming from a friend, nobody is doing it better than @mackstarks with @wpln’s NashVillager. His story to help folks understand what’s happening at the #tnleg this week is particularly profound. us12.forward-to-friend.com/f…

Sounds crazy, but now you can actually just buy your @WPLN / @WNXPnashville gear. At least until Sunday. 8c1489.myshopify.com/?mc_cid…

A Cavendish call is about as good as the AP, if you ask me.
Matt Wiltshire is done. 73% of the vote in, Rolli leads by 2K. The runoff will be Freddie O'Connell and Alice Rolli.
