I wasn’t able to finish my painting in time for the gallery deadline, and at first I was very disappointed, but now that I’ve had some time to simmer down I realize that it’s not the end of the world, and I can continue to work on the painting more peacefully and thoughtfully

You know what sucks? That I’ve been working so hard at my job the past few months in order to get a small promotion and therefore, a small raise… which is immediately being used to buy the same amount of gas I could before 🙃🙃

I think it’s better to not spend too much energy on simply complaining, but it really is annoying. I might get another promotion soon, but I feel like even with another small raise, life’s expenses will simply rise to meet it 😭😭

I feel like Instagram likes my eclectic sketchbook spreads more, while Twitter likes my finished pieces more. I suppose that means that I just have to make even more art and see what happens! Life is feeling like a fun game again

I haven’t made a complete illustration in a while. I’m working on my biggest watercolor ever (18”x24”) and it’s such a challenge, but I believe in it. For now, I’ll post some of my sketchbook spreads

I’m surprised and happy that people are enjoying my latest painting. I remember struggling with that one so much. It’s good to remember that for a viewer, they can’t see the original picture in your head, only what you’ve made, so they’re not comparing like you are
