Although it certainly won't be a walkover, Andy Burnham looks to be cruising to victory in Makerfield this week. I don't blame Restore for standing, for the following reasons - 1. If Reform are that popular they should win the seat off their own back. 2. Nobody should assume that the majority of Restore votes have come from otherwise Reform voters. My own 2 cents are that the Reform campaign has been too negative, and the candidate is not up to fighting a heavyweight like Burnham. Lessons to be learned here, but not a total disaster as the General Election is three years away.

What about this poll Reformers? If this is true and supposing Restore stepped down (which they won't and nor should they) and those voters then go over to Reform (which I doubt they would) what difference does it make?

They are not some of OUR most vulnerable and disadvantaged. Our means they belong here, they don't, most are dual nationals! What happens to OUR (the British) citizens such as veterans, people with mental health problems, families unable to afford houses in the private sector, single parents escaping domestic violence, young people leaving the care system and families living in inadquate and overcrowded housing! Do they not matter? What about young couples wanting to leave home and start a family. These are OUR most vulnerable and disadvantaged and they should come first. There are millions on housing lists so we are not in a position to be helping others coming here, sorry, our infrastructure is crumbling!
This is appalling, they are some of our most vulnerable and disadvantaged people and we have a duty of care for them. Typical far right short sightedness and bigotry. x.com/Telegraph/status/20660โ€ฆ

Should have always been like Jersey where I used to live. To be able to access social housing someone had to work and contribute there for 20 years (15 now I think). At the end of 20 years they were given qualifications which meant they could qualify for social housing, buy a house etc. Employers had to 1st try and employ Jersey people or those qualified on the Island. If they couldn't fill a vacancy then they could employ people like me with the experience needed but had to buy a licence for a few thousand pounds. GP services had to be paid for by everyone. Hospital had to be paid for unless from the UK as there is an agreement in place. The Island of Jersey is beautiful and so they keep these restrictions to protect the Island and to make sure Jersey people are put 1st with housing and employment! We are an Island just on a larger scale!
This shouldnโ€™t even have to be said. It should be a given. British people should always have come first on the social housing list. Itโ€™s the first duty of our government to protect British people, not foreign nationals.

Well, if it's printed in the Daily Mail - that must be true... No wonder they have to rely on clickbait on their website to survive - they are against the British public who used to read their rag!

My son is 19 and I did that for my son. Fortunately, my don just missed the Ipads for toddlers and wasn't really into any games other than Minecraft. However, the above is taking for granted parents have a car or are unable to get out of the house due to being on their own with younger children. In the majority of cases kids dropped off will still be playing on Xboxes, whilst listening to music and chatting! They are also usually still under the watchful eyes of parents. Its not healthy, kids, especially older ones need to be free at times to explore without adults around them. I'm lucky where I live as we are surrounded by hills so once my son hit 14/15 him and his friends started taking blankets, chairs and hanging out in the Countryside. As a parent I was scared but knew it was healthy. I was also able to see his location! Not everyone lives near countryside, so there is nothing to do except hang about in city centres. Believe me this hasn't been thought out and will cause more social problems going forward. None of the age restrictions make sense. My 19 year old son went to pay for petrol for me the other day, whilst he was in there he bought a Monster drink for work and was asked for ID. He refused. He said you have just let me buy petrol, I'm old enough for a driving licence, I can drink/smoke and have sex and I'm wearing a lanyard with the word Manager on! The guy said OK, its true, guidelines are all over the place. They want to let 16 year olds vote but not buy an energy drink etc. They are doing this with social media and Bluesky as propaganda but don't forget these children have parents who remember how we used to be as a Country and can still educate their children!
They will have to go to each otherโ€™s houses and be picked up by their parents or ring each other or go on their parents phone

So what are children and teenagers supposed to do to socialise outside of school hours? When I was we played out. We were free until the light came on. We had youth club discos in our early teens to socialise with the opposite sex. At 16 we left school and went to work where we were allowed to drink at the Xmas party like all the other employees! Children can't play out anymore because of the dangers cars, knives, rape gangs, sexual crime up but their hunger to socialise with friends outside of school still needs satisfying as a normal human interaction and as a part of normal child development. In covid this was all children had. They weren't allowed to go to indoor play centres any longer due to social distancing and most of these centres had to fold as a different era of children was born who relied on games and social media for friendships and were encouraged to use the internet for educational purposes. Youth clubs have gone, indoor play centres have gone, playing out safely has gone, is it any wonder some children are not developing in the correct way! Did the government think of funding youth clubs, indoor play areas, outdoor park areas nearer to home before they decided to do this. Have they thought how parents will check their children are safe, in these dangerous times, before letting their older children play,?

Reformers just don't get it! Restore have literally started from ground zero. We knew from the beginning this would be a difficult battle to win but like all warriors, we will learn from our battles! The main thing I wanted for Restore was to get their name out there in the real world and to grow their membership from that recognition. If Restore come third with 10% or more it will be terrific and show people out there we are a serious party and every vote for us will be one step closer to winning 2029 and then the really hard work begins! So what if Andy Burnham wins? We are still stuck with Labour and who knows could still be stuck with Starmer who has said he will fight any leadership challenge! Either way we are stuck with them until 2029. If Reform win they will gain an extra MP and then what? They are being completely disingenious saying it will bring Labour down (how) and there will be an early election (how will that happen?). If Restore come third with 10% or more it will be terrific and show people out there we are a serious party and every vote for us will be one step closer to winning 2029 and then the really hard work begins! We will get our Country back to a semblance of what it used to be but we know it will take time, dedication and commitment from all us Brits which is why it is important we have a party where we feel listened to, where we are spoken to with honesty and where we all feel valued for what we can being to the table in experience (no matter how small that contributiin may seem). So much has changed in our beautiful Country since the last election in 2024 and every day that passes we are visibly now seeing the dangers of mass immigration both legal & illegal together with the deterioration of all our public services and our way of life and British values being completely trampled on. We have to act and soon, for our ancestors and for our children's and grandchildren's future!
Rupert Loweโ€™s strategy for Makerfield isnโ€™t to win He knows that It isnโ€™t about national interest He knows that Itโ€™s about sowing just enough division to manufacture a victory for Andy Burnham As to his motivation, is it a personal vendetta or something more coordinated?๐Ÿค”

Being from liverpool, I have been in an endless cycle of voting labour, no choice its what we do, "fuck the tories" That phrase has kept labour in power in liverpool for decades. After what labour have done its been fully replaced with fuck the government. They are all the same. Thank god for Rupert lowe, without him there wouldn't be a hope in hell of restoring this country

How do the media distort what you are saying? Cheer up at least you have media backing as you fit in with the uni-party, Rupert Lowe has for all intents and purposes been completely blocked from any mainstream media? Until you turfed Rupert out he used to appear on a weekly basis on GB News but then has never been invited on since. You have your own show on there, Lee Anderson has his own show on there, Zia Yousef, Richard Tice etc always appear on discussions and debates! You also have your own in house media where even the slightest change in Reform policies or councillors/potential MPs is made into a huge media announcement with you as the star of the show! How much more biased media do you need not to distort what you are saying? One interview I remember of yours was when I was still a Reform member last year. In that interview you were talking about the demographic changes. You said something like we should not alienate Islam or we will lose and that it was more or less impossible to have mass deportations. I don't believe anything was distorted then, they were your own words that you have since tried to row back on! And more & more frequently you seem to base your policies on how far Rupert Lowe has pushed the overton window right with new policies and how well received by the public, they have been. It is obvious to everyone that this new change of direction by you in writing essays on substack (probably with Matt Goodwin as your ghost writer) is hoping to emulate some of the success Rupert has had on twitter and facebook. It will be a flop Nigel. Rupert has something you don't naturally have 'integrity' and he isn't in it for the money (no doubt your articles will come with a fee!). He also doesn't seem bothered about all the showmanship and razzamataz and seems quite happy to be just himself on a tannoy on the back of a van. Good luck anyway but I have a feeling your articles will be a lot of work for little return, it certainly won't win 'that lot' back, nor the ex-Reformers like myself, nor the forgotten and the ones who never vote because they feel voiceless, I think Rupert through his sheer hard work in Parliament and social media impact as well and truly captured those voters!
The mainstream media constantly distorts what I say. You can no longer rely on them to report the truth. Thatโ€™s why Iโ€™ve decided to speak to you directly and launch my essays to Britain. โœ๏ธ Read my first post out tomorrow at 8am. Click below or in my bio to subscribe.

I'll try and explain it using an analogy. Through the lens of the Restore Britain voter, which I am, the difference between Keir Starmer and Andy Burnham is ... would you rather eat a bowl of cat shit or a bowl of dog shit. It literally makes no difference to us whatsoever. But then Restore Britain swaggers into the room and says, "Wouldn't you rather eat this delicious, medium rare, fillet steak!" And we go, "Holy shit! That looks fantastic! God damn!" And then Reform UK enters the room and says, "Hey, we're a miserable looking, grey, flat, plastic burger that's been heated up after sitting in an abandoned freezer for ten years. Why don't you vote for us, so that you don't have to eat the dog shit or the cat shit." And we're looking at this and thinking ... "well ... I kinda really want that fine ass, juicy looking steak, actually."
As it stands Andy Burnham is going to win the Makerfield seat. He will then go on to challenge Starmer for leadership. AND??? Itโ€™s just more of the same. Labour are running this country into the ground on a scary scale. DO NOT WASTE YOUR VOTE. For the sake of our children, please vote @reformparty_uk Swallow your ego and think of our children. We can not continue like this ๐Ÿ˜ข

Reform know that if Restore get a large percentage of votes in Makerfield after only existing for a few months, it will show people that Restore are a legitimate option for next election. Thatโ€™s why they use fake polls and Burnham fear porn to manipulate voters. Theyโ€™re afraid.
