🥘Halliwell community kitchen 🧑🏾‍🍳♨️ 🌟 We had the pleasure of welcoming Cllr Baggy Khan, of Halliwell, Cllr hanif ali, to our All Souls Bolton site to see first-hand the work being delivered by Flowhesion, particularly through our Community Kitchen. Cllr Khan brings a burning passion for change 🔥and improvement 🔩for the ward that I haven’t seen in a while. We wanted to thank our outgoing Cllr Safwaan Patel who has always supported our work as well as other orgs in the ward. He remains a true advocate for Halliwell and its thriving third sector ❤️. Funded by Morrisons foundation our community kitchen provides hot meals to residents across Halliwell who are facing hardship. We were delighted to have at our launch of the community kitchen last year Cllr Rabiya Jiva who has been a strong advocate for such facilities to better support Halliwell residents with food security during the cost of living crisis. 🎗️🎗️ Last year it delivered 3️⃣4️⃣3️⃣9️⃣ hotmeals to local Halliwell families 🏡 and residents. we do not discriminate based on colour, ethnicity, religion, or background. 🌟 We were delighted to welcome two very special guests to Flowhesion HQ at All Souls Bolton today Councillors Hanif Alli and Baghdadi Khan of Halliwell Ward. 👏 Baggy has recently been appointed as a councillor for Halliwell, one of of our youngest elected members 🎉🎉 and already brings incredible passion, commitment, and youthful energy to the role 💪🦁🔥 something that was clear for everyone to see today. 🏡 During their visit, they toured our site, met with young people, gave out prizes 🎁🏆taking part in our HAF provision, and learned more about our community kitchen 🥙🥘☎️📝and hot meal offer supporting local residents facing hardship🎗️. 💬 We also had some exciting discussions around coordinating a Summer Fun Day 🌞☀️at Rushton Park 🌳🌳alongside our partners Harmony Youth Project The Centre of Excellence Bolton for young people aged 11–18. Planned activities include: 🎮 A PlayStation bus 🚔 A prison-cell experience van 🎉 And much more to engage and inspire local young people 🙌 Both councillors were enthusiastic about supporting the event and will be attending on the day to listen directly to young people’s views on the improvements they want to see across the Halliwell area 🎙️🎤📝👂👂. Such a powerful moment demonstrating the impact grassroots organisations in Bolton have in the alcohol and substance misuse space ❤️. The diversity and breath of activities that have taken place to support people on their recovery journeys in Bolton was astounding. From drama 🎭, arts 🎨, boxing 🥊 to hiking 🥾🗺️, biking 🚴🏽 counselling 👂and gardening 🪴🪏to name a few. All united in purpose to support those in addictions recovery🎗️.
