I've used LED twilight photometers to measure the altitude of aerosols from the historic Tonga eruption on 15 Jan 2022. I also record times of sunsets/sunrises and glowsets/glowrises to provide maximum height of the aerosols. This sunrise was on 27 Nov at Padre Island.

Mauna Loa Observatory (MLO) is located on the north slope of Mauna Loa at an altitude of 11,100 feet. Today the new eruption sent lava across the access road. This made MLO inaccessible by vehicle. The lava also cut power to MLO. This last occurred in 1984.

Did you know there's evidence that the Century Tree was planted in 1881, making it almost as old as #TAMU? #ArborDay @AggieNetwork ➡️ tx.ag/CenturyTree125

This family knows how to be your prepared for the eventual end of this pandemic. Their positive outlook cheers me up every morning I walk by their house.

Way back in 1973 I used surplus satellite solar cells to make 2 chargers for the rechargeable batteries that powered my flashlights on long distance bike trips. That was 46 years ago--and they still work!

Twitter cut my first post on politics in response to Dems calling others racists when Dems were the party of slavery and the KKK. I saw this in Alabama in 1961-2 & in a voting ballot I posted here. History is history & should never be blocked.

Read about an 11-year old authentic heroine in this story I wrote 20 years ago.
"As the house began crashing into trees, Dan knew the house was headed for the main river channel. So he sat in a window, told Jen to hang on, and they jumped into the black water below." - Written by @fmims seguingazette.com/alert/arti…

FBI CLOSES SUNSPOT OBSERVATORY: White Sands Missile Range is visible from Sunspot. Maybe a foreign loyalist was using a telescope to photograph highly classified military experiments. Photo from my book shows old Sunspot telescope where Mauna Loa Observatory was conceived.

Why are science tweets to me responding with: "Sorry, that page doesn't exist!" These are perfectly innocent tweets about atmospheric aerosols, volcano eruptions, etc.

The lava river from Kilauea's vent 8 near Pahoa, Hawaii, creates a sky glow visible for considerable distance. This photo was made about a mile from the lava on Aug 2, 2018.

Sahara dust is floating over my atmospheric observation site in Central Texas. This will occur on and off until fall. UV and photosynthetic radiation are reduced around 15%. Sneezes are increased in frequency.

We never screen out critics, even the harshest ones. We do screen out drinks, seminar callers and @Steelers fans. And I drop people who lie to poor Ben and Mason, the Batman and Robin of screeners who get know help from @Radioblogger who is watching #Pickleball videos x.com/coryforohio/status/100…

Minnie and I were married 50 years ago tomorrow (June 15, 1968). She was a secretary at the Air Force Weapons Lab where I was assigned after Vietnam. MITS (Altair 8800>>Microsoft) was started in 1969, and Minnie typed all the instruction manuals.

Replying to @itsdesign
It's one thing to devise code and plans for systems that interpret code. It's entirely another to construct what implements code. If the former requires an intelligent designer, the latter requires a super-intelligent constructor. Molecular biologists: how do you explain this?

Yes. And still another study condemns the huge electricity consumption of super computers that process climate models!
