This past Wednesday I attended the listening session for @jahmonteogbon's debut @LexRecords release… As of Now It was held at the Fuzzy Needle record store in my hometown of Durham, and was presented by @superemptync. After they spun the album, there was a live interview conducted by one of my favorite journalists, @gardenerjams. Had a white kid do this to me but he was quite literally stabbing me with a push pin for no reason. I got kicked out of class during a test because I wouldn’t just let him stab me. Despite me never being in trouble and him routinely getting in trouble, she took his side.

When I was in high school and white kids would call me nigga I’d say “CAN YOU PLEASE NOT CALL ME THE N WORD” as loud as I could so the whole class would hear and they’d say “wtf are you talking about I didnt say that” their ability to lie so defiantly like they genuinely believed what they were saying was scary as fuck

Sharing here bc it’s not on Corus… I saw myself in damn near every character. Certain experiences I thought were unique to me seem to be quite common with other people who share the same condition. I just wish there were black people in this film who got more than 3 or 4 lines.
