New eval EmbedBench scored frontier LLMs on embedded systems.
Best model: DeepSeek-R1, 55.6% pass@1. ESP-IDF migration topped out at 29.4%.
The catch? Single-shot in a sim, three boards, and no compiler errors fed back.
That isn't how anyone writes firmware. PlatformIO-MCP closes the loop (build, flash, monitor) across STM32, Nordic, ESP32, and 1,550 other boards.
