"Best practice" is such a weasely phrase in software engineering—what if they're not "best"? What if they're not even good?
In practice, it means "popular" more than anything. Maybe we should start calling them "Commonly Recommend and Popular Practices" instead...

Elasticsearch's upgrade to Lucene 9 reduced disk usage of the index of the `message` field (StardardAnalyzer, indexOptions=DOCS) by almost 15% (and overall ~3.5%) on the applications logs dataset we use for nightly benchmarks thanks to the move from FOR to PFOR for postings.
