I wrote an article about my experiences as a speaker and as an attendee at #RailsWorld!

The YouTube video of my talk - Demystifying some of the #Rails codebase will be released soon but in the meantime, you can find the slides at twtr.to/GjK-1. If you attended my talk, I'd love your feedback on my delivery and presentation twtr.to/KOPwk.
Tip: each of these guides PR has a docs-preview build. You can use that to review, in addition to the markdown diff.

We'd really love your feedback on these PRs for the #Rails Guides! I worked on the Active Record Associations Guide (github.com/rails/rails/pull/…), and there were some significant changes! Your feedback on the changes would be invaluable to improving the documentation ✨
There are 2 new Rails Guide documentation PRs up for community review:
- Rails Routing: github.com/rails/rails/pull/…
- Active Record Associations: github.com/rails/rails/pull/…
These PRs will stay open for one week. Your feedback and input on either PR is greatly appreciated!
I’m trying not to make my Twitter feed “all ChatControl all the time” but I’m not sure there’s much point in tweeting about cryptography if the EU passes legislation undermining it.
With the #EUCouncil set to vote on the "Chat Control" proposal, a reminder:
It's impossible to create a technological system that can scan the contents of private electronic communication while preserving the right to privacy.

"Vergelijk het met briefgeheim; de overheid belooft dat post onderweg niet wordt geopend", legt Rejo uit op NU.nl. "Maar ze kijken wél over je schouder als je de brief schrijft. Dan is het briefgeheim alsnog geschonden."

I run this thing called Portmaster which blocks all outgoing network requests until I allow them. The reason?

Telegram has launched a pretty intense campaign to malign Signal as insecure, with assistance from Elon Musk. The goal seems to be to get activists to switch away from encrypted Signal to mostly-unencrypted Telegram. I want to talk about this a bit. 1/
Hey everybody, I'm Kasper, I used to be on the Rails core team, but these days I'm helping small/medium Rails shops with their apps.
I'd love to join your team & help you out. Right now I'm looking for 2 clients at ~10h/week, ~3-6 months?
Let's chat. savvycal.com/kaspth/3b22358e…
Was super exited to visit @tropical_rb, delivering stroopwafels sponsored by @AppSignal. Due to the current layoffs and downsizing I now have no job or contract yet and not really a budget to fly to São Paulo. Anyone still need a ticket? Or sponsor my flight? Will code for money!
✨ Instead of text for Rails and Ruby tips or tutorials, I'm trying out videos now. Here's the first one.
Subscribing will be a good idea.

If you are using @dropbox and do not want 3rd party AI technology partners to have access to your dropbox files, flip this switch (on by default, or did I agree to this somewhere?) (web->account->settings-3rd party AI) /cc @EU_EDPS
After a long holiday, I'm back to work and I've packaged my work into a gem to modernise FormBuilders in Rails. It's still a work in progress but getting it out there is one more step towards figuring out if this idea actually makes sense.

Looks like Ruby is getting virtual top-level namespaces. Dependencies can be required in these namespaces without polluting the global namespace.

Hey small Rails shops, are you struggling with setting up model data for tests? You've tried Factories, you've dabbled in Fixtures, but both aren't the best. I'm currently working on a gem to fix this, and we can build it with your app in mind!
