me watching a big name in the industry nuke their credibility from orbit -- all the inane discourse about indie animation and here comes jorge reminding what the REAL problems are

Gameoverse is extremely lucky to have Cameron on board, look at this stuff (more in the thread), ahg damn, absolutely bringing the look of the show to the next level
Some of my concepts and explorations of the heroes' ship, the Nimble! This one took a lot of work, and I wanted to include a lot of fun references in the interior, can you spot them all? (Also, all of the chairs were designed with clearance/holes for tails in mind) #gameoverse

the secret power of wacom's expensive cintiq pro stands is that you can hang the tablet over the edge of your desk to get a very comfortable drafting-table angle, or stand it up and use it standing. I haven't had body/neck pain in years since using my cintiq this way.
you gotta pick one

the first post is my desk at work but I use the same model cintiq in my home studio. Matched with a low-back eames pad chair. (this setup is pretty recent though I've switched some things up a bit more since then.)

Still other options exists, I myself used to use an Ergotron LX in my Cintiq 21UX/22HD days. (Wacom's own arm is literally a rebranded Ergotron.) There are also low-angle VESA stands that work well enough. I use the official stand now because I prefer its ease of use/setup.

Worth praising those out there screenshotting posts to dunk on AI — make sure those people aren’t getting any engagement. Also I love how these guys think a couple clips with no story = “omg ai can do entire 23 minute episodes of perfectly directed sequential storytelling”
AI is not taking over animation cope harder

Not that procreate is the worst app or anything, but to be real one of the problems it faces that I constantly hear from other artists is “oh yeah I’ve tried procreate but couldn’t get into it. Why does it **feel** so weird??”
whats the worst art program and why is it procreate

Actually if Procreate had a “direct/pure” option to globally disable all streamline stabilization and prioritize critical pen accuracy, this would solve a huge issue for many artists who couldn’t get into procreate’s feel.

There are many artists regardless of draftsmanship skill who don’t like/want/need stabilization. Procreate is the only app I know of that bakes stabilization settings into each individual brush instead of it being a single global control.

I have no sympathy for DeviantArt because their downfall was brought upon themselves (if they are truly on their last leg,) but it's sad that nothing like the heyday years of DA has ever been replicated despite many attempts. If you weren't there you kiiiinda missed out lol

But I guess where I'm going with this, is that in the wake of DA's decline and seeming death, I'm not sure that Cara replicating parts of instagram, twitter, and artstation into one was the best idea, while ignoring the best parts of DeviantArt that I feel are what people miss.

[to clarify, I'm not putting Cara down at all, I appreciate the team's hard work on it, and that it even exists! I just personally would have loved to have seen some classic DA influences in it from a UX/community standpoint. It's still in beta after all, so many some day!]
