For Tier 1 to be what it should be, we must not lower the bar. Our job in Tier 1 is to set the bar, make learners aware of the bar & what it takes to reach it, & then lift ALL learners to the bar. Lowering anything amounts to nothing. We raise the learners up instead.

Yes! How we show up matters!
Don't ask, "Will I make an impact today?" We don't get that choice. We WILL make an impact on the kids & adults we interact with. Instead ask, "What kind of impact will I make?" We can be the reason they want to come to school or the reason why they don't. That's the choice.

Observation and feedback without planning isn’t coaching. That’s evaluating. Sitting alongside teachers for instructional planning is a critical component to coaching cycles. 1/2

Dr. Baldwin was the first one to believe in 22 year old me. I'm thankful he took a chance and hired me for my first job as a teacher.
