Freesound has been stable for the last day or so (we resolved a small hiccup yesterday). We believe that things have stabilised so we re-enabled sound uploads. Some small features may still not be working, we'll be working over the coming weeks to add these back

We're back for now, on a nice new infrastructure. Sound uploads are disabled until we have time to regroup and stabilise things. Thanks for your understanding. Let us know any issues you find either here or on the forum

We've been experiencing university-wide outages for the last hours. Unfortunately, university servers are not yet ready and Freesound remains unreachable. We will update when we have more news. All sounds and data are safe.

Thanks everyone for your patience! It looks like internet traffic is lost somewhere between the university main ingress and our Freesound servers. University IT people are working to fix it, but we can't give a time estimate as this is not really in our hands right now...

Today we are introducing the Broad Sound Taxonomy, a user-friendly taxonomy for the categorization of sounds that enables new ways to browse Freesound. Sounds are labeled by their creators, but we also use ML models to categorize previously uploaded sounds blog.freesound.org/?p=2206
