Do you need someone to simply listen to you?
I Listen.
This is a gift I am giving to our COVID Conscious Community.
I am a musician/vocalist so deep listening comes with the territory. I've also known the value when someone is able to just listen to me without trying to "fix" me. This has helped me to hear myself so I can solve my own problems. So, I've studied listening and taken several courses in how to listen to others.
All that said, If/when you need a friend to just LISTEN to you, please feel free to DM me.

Make it make sense!
Yesterday I flew from Maui to Honolulu, HawaiΚ»i.
From my seat I watched to adults approach wearing baggy black masks (the only others I saw other than myself with any kind of mask at all). Then I noticed that their two very young children were unmasked.
?????
The mother and children sat in the seats in front of me while the father searched in his backpack and found a container with some kind of wet wipes. He handed a few to his wife who then TOOK OFF HER MASK and began to FRIOUSOUSLY WIPE OFF all of the surfaces.
She remained unmasked the remainder of the flight and also while deplaning.

Relics from a time gone by....
HereΚ»s another fascinating view from my journey through the Kaiser Permanente clinic in Honolulu this morning.
I went outside of the clinicΚ»s back door to an open, unused and covered area so I could eat some lunch. These two somewhat neglected chairs were a bit dusty but served my purpose.
CanΚ»t quite decipher what the labels may have at one point meant.
Any ideas?

Is this sign on the door to the Kaiser Permanente clinic in Honolulu actually true?
Given that absolutely NOTHING is being done to prevent the infection and spread of COVID which is a BIOHAZARD LEVEL 3 pathogen, then this sign is simply not true.

HereΚ»s another (misleading and useless) sign from my adventure today accompanying a friend who needed medical care in a Kaiser Permanente clinic in Honolulu.
Good thing they "welcomed me to wear a mask" or I would have left immediately.

I am attending a friend who needs medical surgery, so am in a Kaiser clinic in Honolulu, HawaiΚ»i. Check out this sign on the desk where we checked in, advising that EVERYONE wear a mask - and yet NONE of the staff behind the desk were wearing masks. I considered turning it around and asking them why they were not masking, but decided not to bother because I knew it would be just a waste of my (filtered) breath.
Sigh.....

After not flying for 8 years (because of the pandemic), I have flown 3 times in the past two months. It is is SUCH a maskless freak show out there.
I am SO grateful for my COVID Conscious/Cautious Twitter Peeps for helping me to understand how to continue to keep myself SAFE.

A gentle reminder to my fellow Long Covid advocates using AI for research or drafting posts: please proofread medical AI output very closely.
These models were trained on data heavily shaped by the dominant narratives of institutional PR and academic marketing, meaning they will sometimes confidently explain away systemic failures and even emphasize and congratulate some of the very "experts" who have arguably contributed to six years of inaction and abandonment of patients with pandemic-related conditions.
If we don't independently audit the output, we risk accidentally validating and amplifying the exact misinformation we are fighting so hard to change.π

I read this sentence today and it leapt out at me.

This is exactly what we're talking about when we talk about the impacts of repeat covid infections on higher brain function.

Guess how many masks I saw? One baggie black on one of the staff.
