announcement: I am proud to announce that @wpm_design has taken a massive step into in house manufactuirng by taking delivery of a @Haas_Automation cnc mill. This allows wpm to not only prototype rapidly but also produce quality parts in house, right here in Los Angeles. Without the hassle of negotiating with outside manufacturers wpm will focus on the goals of delivering luxury and quality no matter the product. Thanks to everyone who has supported me through the inception of wpm nearly 5 years ago, and I can’t wait to personally make your favorite products.

Yeah, so basically it turns out Meta has been heavily lobbying online age verification laws. They've lobbied over $2,000,000,000 to politicians in form of grants and donations. x.com/bee_fumo/status/203246…

someone traced the all the non profit grants for the age verification laws old.reddit.com/r/linux/comme…

My entire career can be traced back to my Mom buying me Minecraft for my 12th birthday
Minecraft was the greatest CS education ever made. And nobody planned it that way. At 12 I was obsessed. Wanted my own servers. So I learned Bukkit, Java plugins, basic networking, Linux deployment. Built worlds that only exist in my mind but still feel completely real. I broke wifi routers and fixed them. Broke Windows configs and fixed them. Tinkering, breaking stuff, and fixing it later is how we learn stuff best when we are kids. What is the Minecraft for the new generation?

🚨 Google wants to force every Android developer to register with them, even if you never touch the Play Store. We signed the open letter opposing this alongside EFF, Proton, F-Droid, Tor Project, and 30 others. Android's openness is non-negotiable. keepandroidopen.org/open-let…

it feels very disappointing watching the people who pioneered the internet be so hellbent on breaking it

we have each part of the keyboard post process differently and then type 2 anodized so hopefully we like how that finish is. cerakote is so expensive where every local shop was charging a minimum of 75 dollars or up to 200 bucks. PCBs are in production, and we’re buying metal now

if I had the home workshop to do cerakote I would but we’d need to be trained and we’d be doing it under market price for our products which is not sustainable so we’re checking all other options that are higher quality than powdercoat

it’s better to own your ai than rent it
Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman says most white-collar work "will be fully automated by an AI within the next 12 to 18 months.” If that’s true, it’s an economic earthquake. We need a moratorium on new AI data centers to make sure AI works for workers, not just billionaires.
