I know the shows original team doesn't like to chronicles books or consider them Canon, but if they're gonna bring the show back it would honestly be a great idea to grab some of the elements they gave it.
Like it's origins and downfall before the series as it really makes its behaviors make so much more sense and explains why it doesn't just hack a government jet while the kids are asleep and bomb the city one night.
Except that whole redemption crap... that was stupid as hell.

Back in the day voice actors had the freedom to play things outside of their identity (i.e. black playing Asian, men playing women, women playing cats, etc.) because what mattered was the actor's performance not retarded identity politics.
