Today, we remember the 17 killed at Dunblane 29 years ago and stand with those forever touched by loss. We should never forget and reaffirm the commitments made afterwards to compassion, peace and building a kinder society.

US VP @JDVance today on 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 buffer zone law. Completely misrepresenting the facts, with the aim of interfering with law that was democratically passed in our parliament This is a man that has previously said that he wants a national abortion ban in the 🇺🇸 Fact-check in thread 👇
This is scaremongering. You won't be arrested just for praying in your home. You might be if you use your house or garden to harass women outside about abortion. Please watch @rachaelfrclarke clarify this as part of her oral evidence to the @ScotParl Health Committee in Feb 👇

Tabloids have been running the same headline for decades. Apparently Christmas 'cancelled' because of 'PC gone mad', 'because of bleeding heart liberals', 'because of woke' 😴😴😴 Except is isn't. It wasn't true in the 1990s and it isn't true now. leftfootforward.org/2024/12/…

Good use of @HumanistsInt map data to show how severe and serious 'blasphemy laws' really are, and why no democratic state that believes in human rights should have them on their books in any form.
Blasphemy laws are terribly retrograde. But surprisingly relatively common, even in some liberal democracies.
