You don't understand but you turned off comments so no one can help you understand. Hunting isn't sustainable to supply people with the amount of meat they are eating. Chickens outnumber us 3 to 1. People would have to dramatically reduce meat consumption if we only hunted
i didn't wanna get involved in this discourse at first but... i don't get how veggies wrapped in multiple layers of plastic packaging shipped through at least 5 countries by planes is more environmentally sustainable than catching food 1 mile away, not wrapped in plastic

That's why I don't eat meat. Meat uses more monocultured crops to feed the animals vs just eating them directly. Trophic energy levels.
Monocrop agriculture (like soy, almonds, avocado) is actually terrible. It displaces animals. Usually uses pesticides which devastate the insect life. Uses massive amounts of drinking water. Wipes out biodiversity in the area. Completely depletes the soil leading to soil erosion.
