Children’s rights don’t stop at the login screenšŸ¤³šŸ¾ Kids deserve safety, privacy, information, and a voice online too. The digital world should protect children not exclude them with a blanket approach. @christufton @themohwgovjm Click the link in bio to read more.

While welcoming recent comments by Health Minister Dr Christopher Tufton indicating Jamaica is exploring restricting children's access to social media, Fi We Children Foundation cautioned that will not be enough to protect children in the digital age. jamaicaobserver.com/2026/06/…

Agreed. Jamaica’s use of School Resource Officers (SROs) reflects a securitised approach to school violence, yet evidence suggests such models may undermine children’s rights. (1/2) We recently explored this in a Letter to the Editor in the Gleaner: jamaica-gleaner.com/article/…

Armed police officers aren't the answer to underfunded schools. What students need is more counsellors, youth workers, mental health supports. Remember when there used to be school nurses? There's zero evidence cops make schools safer.

āœļøA child’s hands should be holding a pencil, not a shovel.šŸŖ Childhood is meant for growth, play & learning, not labour. On #WorldDayAgainstChildLabour, we’re showing the red card to #childlabour, because every child deserves a fair chance at a brighter future. #EndChildLabour

šŸ‘šŸæšŸŽ FWCF is pleased to see the School Nutrition Policy being put into action! Well done to Cascade Primary for leading by example and promoting healthier choices for students.
So proud of the Cascade Primary & Infant school in Portland, the first to comply 100% with the school nutrition policy. No sugary drink, balance meals and JaMoves exercise. Others can do too with good leadership. Say a shout out for cascades students and teachers. šŸ‡ÆšŸ‡²šŸ™šŸæ

More police in schools won’t necessarily make students safer. Texas shows why: children were handcuffed, arrested, and subjected to force for behaviour once handled by educators and counsellors based on a @nytimes report Read more in bit.ly/4xx6aMb
