He used to stream regularly around the time I'd be done watching the NBA games, most nights I couldn't sleep I would stay up and watch his streams, now I guess it'll be a good memory to remember him and his calming energy, one of the best to ever do it.

Danya's always gonna be a one of a kind. I'll never forget him, I didn't know him personally, but I will never forget him. Many great memories of him streaming late at night, I only wish I could go back and watch them again. He is a legend. Rest in power, til we meet again Danya.

you take a look at the comments on this and it's all celebrations despite it being a misfortune for the players who competed for an entire year to earn this spot, almost feels like decisions are made based on popularity at this point

"Several millions of dollars to run these Challengers leagues" yet you still haven't paid people who worked on or competed in this circuit in a certain region for a certain period of time because the TO you hired went bankrupt, where's that money going then?

Like I said we did not donate $300,000 in subs. Furthermore, I understand it may not feel that way, but we do invest much more than that in Challengers every year. It takes several millions of dollars to run all these Challengers leagues and Ascension tournaments around the world. That said, we’ve been working for a long time to improve the ecosystem for non-partner teams in the VCT and are getting close to shipping some exciting changes. Stay tuned.

and the MENA Rioters about the contact in Riot EMEA I wasn't given that contact to this moment. For reasons that I still don't know, does the social media manager and graphic designer work not matter as much as the talent's? (2/x)

To cover the expenses of me and my family and the debt I found myself in as a result of spending months of my time and travelling out of my country to work on Riot Games events that I didn't get paid for, some of which are over 2 years ago now. (4/x)

How is this acceptable for a company as big as Riot? And for people as influential as the Rioters of MENA and EMEA? I hope we're better than this and that you come to a resolution for all people affected so this doesn't leave a stain for the future. @riotgames @RiotGrasshopper

I'd just like to add to this that the talents at least found a contact with Riot EMEA and when they say "Riot stepped in for VALORANT" it's not completely true, Riot stepped in for the talents of VAL but no one has reached out to me and even when I asked some of the talents (1/x)
TLDR: Scammed by Calyx, Riot’s TO. Riot stepped in for Valorant but refused to do the same for LoL. This has been one of the most frustrating experiences of my career. I’m speaking up now to make sure future talents, players, and orgs don’t suffer in silence like we did. In 2024, me and all AL talents were not paid for multiple projects, raising serious concerns about pursuing this as a full time career under Riot Games. How safe is it? Is this always going to be the case? Last week, we finally found the right contact at Riot EMEA to help us. After some back and forth, we discovered that Riot EMEA uses two different "operational frameworks" for League of Legends and Valorant. For Valorant? It’s simple. If the TO doesn’t pay on time or issues arise, Riot Games steps in and covers the losses. Everyone gets paid. But for League of Legends? That’s where the “different operational framework” comes in. Riot Games EMEA does NOT cover any losses related to League ERLs. Logical? I don’t think so. But even then, I wouldn’t interfere in how they run their business. What made this even worse is that after explaining this double standard to us… Riot ghosted us. No follow-up, no solution, no support. Just silence. So what’s the problem? Two major issues: A clear, unfair disparity between the two games. It makes zero sense to anyone working in League of Legends. Absolutely no communication from Riot Games informing talents of this rule, where they only refuse to cover unpaid dues in one of their two MENA esports ecosystems. To make things worse, Riot’s only offered “support” was to push Calyx by talking to them. No legal action, no enforcement, just conversations. That’s all. Meanwhile, our money remains unpaid. We’re now preparing to take legal action ourselves, with our own money. Hopefully, it’s not too late. I’m posting this to shed light on the unfair, unprofessional, and biased system at Riot Games EMEA. All I want is my rightful payment, now totaling over 10,000 dollars. I know I've been speaking about this a lot, but I believe it’s my duty to expose this system for the sake of future talents and anyone working in AL. If you’re scammed in Valorant, you're safe. If you're scammed in LoL, your money won’t come back. And Riot won’t warn you about this rule until it’s too late. So if you ever face this situation, take legal action and speak up. Don’t be afraid to lose an opportunity. Staying silent only breeds more corruption. I hope this reaches Riot Games EMEA so they can fix their system, give us our money back, and prevent this from happening again. Always stand up for your rights, no matter the consequences. @riotgames @MarcMerrill @RiotGrasshopper @RiotSphinx88 @RiotMAXtheX @arbykov
