Every time someone with no knowledge of publishing says something like "[famous author] got rejected by EIGHT WHOLE literary agents before signing that 7 figure deal so don't ever give up!!!1!" I die a little inside.
Today is the release of my MG book A Haunting in Hollowfield, and to celebrate, I’m sharing details surround the ghost(s) who haunted my house growing up. Here’s a picture of my haunted house on 5th Avenue again. First a little background. #hauntedhouseon5th#reallifeghoststories
SOMEDAY has arrived!! So excited to have this book out in the world! If you like strong but flawed girls, roller derby, explorations of the meaning of life, random presidential trivia, weather art, ropes courses, hand lettering or organ donation, this might be a book for you.
ICYMI -- Your book is out in the world. Now you have to face a room full of kids. @gailecn has some thoughts for you.

Did you know Fridays are #humorwithheart days? Post your favorite funny MG books (because humor can be heartwarming too!). Mine for today is @bvam’s exciting and hilarious Mrs. Smith’s Spy School for Girls series. Share your choices!
telling people you’re single:
• “you’ll find someone”
• “have you tried tinder”
saying “many have tried to date me and all have failed”:
• mystical
• empowering
• sword-in-the-stone vibes
Summer has arrived at long last.
Our contributors have decided that it is time to take a little break. We will be decreasing the number of new posts over this summer.
But don't worry. All summer we will be sharing our favorite Kidliterati posts using #ArchiveSummer.
We have exciting news, writers & illustrators! The #SCBWImidsouth19 conference page is now live! Our theme this year is THE MECHANICS OF STORY, and we've added a portfolio showcase, a retreat track, and a gala dinner. Check it out—tinyurl.com/yxtkcdn8#kidlit#WritingCommunity
Okay, this is fun! What I could talk about for 30 minutes with no prep:
-figure skating (surprise! LOL)
-writing & publishing
-the National Parks
-kids/parenting
-the birth experience (like every other mom. It's the ultimate mom connection.)
-Disney World (when I plan, I PLAN.)
