Which is why the whole “comics need to have character growth and character endings” is so stupid. It’s antithetical to what they are. It’s like wanting Bugs Bunny to grow and have character resolution. No, he does silly hijinks with Elmer and Daffy. Same with Batman and Joker.
Pre-Craig Bond basically works like superhero comic books. It’s the same person from Connery to Brosnan, but he stays the same age over the course of decades with inconsistent characterization and fast and loose continuity.

Idk I think his biggest/dumbest mistake as a creative was loving steam engines so much he wrote an amazing series about them due to his immersion in a culture of passionate railwaymen who frequently personified their engines as she/her yet still made them male to write characters

It cannot be understated how monumentally stupid this is. This is hands down Wilbert Awdry’s biggest and dumbest mistake as a creative.
We waited several years to hear something, ANYTHING, about the Peel Godred Branch Line’s electric engines and he did NOTHING with them.
