Scott Hastings was simply the loveliest man. Too sad.

Scott Hastings, a man of integrity, honesty and empathy. A player who never gave below his maximum. There is nothing more you can ask as a legacy. RIP

So sad to hear of the death of Scott Hastings. A really pleasant man with quiet charm and knowledge. Sadly only got to met him the once after getting beat by the auld enemy but a real gentleman and loved our great sport. #rip #class

A fair and balanced view - his failure is leadership and selling his message.
I have never been a fan of Keir Starmer as Prime Minister. Top politicians need to realise it’s not just the message, but how you sell it that cuts through to the public psyche. His policies may well have been among the best for the country and some undoubtedly were but Sir Keir never seemed able to land them with the public. Voters rarely reward policies they don’t emotionally connect with. Yesterday’s reset speech didn’t help. What exactly was he trying to tell us. Now, in what could be the death throes of his tenancy in No 10 after less than two years at the top, I do find myself feeling for him. He pulled himself up by his bootstraps and reached not one but two of the highest offices in the land. So, as the wannabes circle the Cabinet table this morning, positioning for what may come next, spare a thought for a man who genuinely wanted to make a difference, but never quite mastered the art of making his case. Fair?

When will Starmer realise it’s time to go ? I’m genuinely not sure there is a ready baked replacement but living on borrowed time doesn’t help anyone. It’s carnage and all it will do is strengthen reform

🚨 Labour’s private school VAT raid is pushing over 65,000 children out of independent education 1 in 10 pupils. The Adam Smith Institute says this is 3x worse than the government predicted, with 115 schools already closed. These kids aren’t disappearing they’re flooding into already oversubscribed state schools. Bigger classes, longer waiting lists, overstretched teachers, and crumbling buildings. Standards will fall for every child. Taxpayers face an extra £500m bill a year, while the policy likely loses money overall. Ideological vandalism that punishes aspiration. Britain’s children deserve better. #EducationFail #StateSchoolCrisis #LabourFail #VATRaid

The first thing you don't do, is kneecap SMEs that make up 60% of employers. Then, knee capping energy supply, which is the basis of industrialisation, she increases the cost of EVERYTHING ,to reduce carbon by 0.01%. So tell me, what have they done right?

The House of Lords is a great check & reflecting body but actions by @Tanni_GT (who I respect hugely as an athlete) and others is purely blocking individuals owning their end of life and human right. It was a pure blocking mechanism against those in pain making their free choice

Amazing from Del Boy but is it just me or did Wilder not want to hurt him in the end? I love Chisora a real warrior and not sure we will see his like again but for your wife, kids and your own health call it 50 and out. You will live a warrior! #chisorawilder

Labour came to power talking and being elected to bring economic growth and to raise incomes. 0.1% that’s stella growth. Maybe if you hadn’t put a noose around the neck of uk business with NI increases and ludicrous workers rights we’d see growth and more employment. #clueless

Sadly goodbye Gregor Townsend. Sat here in my Scotland shirt thinking it couldn’t get worse - and it has. Fair play Italy but Scotland have no heart, nouse or passion. Next week England will destroy us

Having been briefed labour’s upcoming employment changes it’s clear the old ideology burns bright. The odd positive move is far outweighed by the bad and it’s a return to the bad days. British business will become less productive. Same old Labour - anti business

God our government. The decision on the Chinese embassy is plain stupidity and flies against all evidence out there on risk. This is one that will come back and bite us as a nation #markmywords
