You have a moment when you watch these games when you realise that at the end of the day it really is just Canada vs Bosnia and nothing is going to change that fact

this didn’t really get much better when I started from the beginning
Stated Jack Ryan earlier. Spent the whole first episode not really enjoying it. Didn’t think they introduced the characters well, didn’t really understand what was going on. Went to start the second episode and realised I was on season four. Fucks sake

They keep banging on about how great the Azteca is but you could hear a pin drop

I know that announcing you’ve got no interest in the World Cup is very annoying and boring, but this really does feel like a dreadful chore. I’ve got to watch the first game for work reasons and I’m honestly fairly raging about it

funny, was still a bit rubbish really. all very look at me, about being seen to be celebrating than actually celebrating. it’s like if Arsenal were an entire sport
4:30am and I’m watching NBA and it was incredible. What a weird turn of events

I enjoyed Disclosure Day. Very Spielberg, bit of a throwback. A little bit silly and it didn’t have a profound effect on me like Project Hail Mary did but very enjoyable

honest to god how are they even real
In a Japanese zoo, famous male gorilla Kiyomasa was filmed sinking into deep thought after a quarrel with his partner.

I sort of get why people laugh at clips from this, but also I can’t imagine a harder thing to try to make, and I’m not sure they could have done much better
Outjerked again by England

Greyhound Derby Final tonight. Must be about a hundred greyhounds there, surely they won’t notice if one of them comes home with us

I didn’t really have this sadly. First football match I ever watched was Cameroon in 1990 (so I supported Tottenham for obvious reasons) which was a bit late into the tournament, then 94 was shit and I think I’d decided by 98 that I didn’t like international football
This is glorious. I’ve read it 3 times already and it was only published 71 minutes ago. Paul Howard: You’ll spend the rest of your life chasing the way your first World Cup made you feel irishtimes.com/sport/soccer/…

honestly feel like I’ve had a stroke reading some of the responses to this
This Alan Brazil thing is doing my head in. Everybody deserves a second chance and I hope he takes it, but the complete lack of acknowledgement as to why he needed a liver transplant is obscene. He’s not some good time Charlie, he’s a rampant, long term alcoholic

Danny Dyer and Katherine Parkinson on Rivals is one of the most believable romances I’ve ever seen on telly, weird and unexpected isn’t it
