The houses are in good repair and have had historically-correct timber sash and timber casement windows inserted: the windows are illuminated with the branding of the Irish Wake Museum. The roofs of both houses have been restored with natural slate. The house on the left has been repainted in a rose red while the house on the right has been repainted in a dark blue. The foreground has been relandscaped with stone flags and a sandy-coloured gravel.

The house is seven windows wide, two storeys high, and has a Classical doorcase of limestone at its centre. All of the openings are boarded up. The render has come away from the walls to reveal a rubble limestone construction. A crack or masonry break to the right of the door is evidence that the house was originally much smaller but was extended at a later date.
